Hunger rarely announces itself in advance. A lost job, a sudden displacement, a natural disaster — and a family that was doing fine last month is unsure where tonight’s dinner will come from.
The Warm Meals Kitchen project runs nine community kitchens that prepare fresh, hot meals every single day, staffed largely by local volunteers who know their neighborhoods best. No forms, no means test at the door — just a hot plate for anyone who needs one.
Beyond the meal itself, the kitchens have become informal community hubs where people share information about other services available to them.
